Not So Scary, Budget-Friendly Halloween Party Tips and Tricks
Something Wicked is Coming This Way! Part 1
Tis the season to get spooky! Halloween is right around the corner and if you want to throw a spooktacular party, gourd ahead and keep on reading! If you're like me who loves to find every reason to throw a get together but is also always on a budget, ooh boy (or girl)! Do I have some tips..and tricks.. for you!
Here are some of my planning tips to help you with your budget yet still throw a fun party:
1.Think of a theme and stick to it.
Having a theme will help you organize your thoughts and know what you need. This will also help you avoid buying decorations in excess, therefore saving some $$$.
2. Plan ahead and don't procrastinate!
Planning your party ahead of time gives you the opportunity to scour a lot of places for Halloween goodies and have first dibs on them. Procrastinating will leave you with very little items to choose from, even the items that you think would be available throughout the Halloween season (like bag of bones and skulls).
3. Write lists of what you need.
Having a checklist will, again, help you get organized and not shop mindlessly. I would normally have a couple of lists like decorations, food and drinks, activities, etc.
4. Collect your decorations.
This has something to do with #2. When you plan your party ahead of time and have a list going, you'll already have an idea of what you need. I recommend to buying those items slowly. I start shopping, a.k.a collecting, when September hits and stores start stocking up on Halloween decorations. Again, you have a lot to choose from and collecting your items early will not make you feel like your dropping big money when you buy everything all at once. If you're really planning ahead (like next year), plan on buying decorations the starting November 1. Most, if not all, will have their decorations on sale, giving you more bang for your buck.
5. Don't forget to hit up inexpensive stores.
Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Five and Below. You get the drift. Five and Below is one of my favorite stores to visit. Even for Halloween. It has a lot of options to choose from and you can get everything you need, from plastic ware to candy to costumes to decorations, in there!
And last but not the least,
6. Have fun!
Enjoy the planning process. Planning a Halloween party could be so much fun especially if you prepare yourself for it. When you get stressed and feel stuck, stop for a moment and do something else. This will help you refresh you mind and then go back to it.
There's so many things about Halloween that you could find and most of it are so interesting. Enjoy the scouring, the DIY-ing, and definitely the scaring! Good luck!
