Ghostly Decorations

Can you believe it? Halloween is two and a half weeks away! It’s practically right around the corner and if you are still looking for ideas to decorate your house either just for fun or for a spooky Halloween party, I have some decoration ideas that are extremely easy to make. Here are two very easy ghost-themed decoration ideas that will hopefully spook your guests socks off.

      1. Ghost garlands

All you need for this project are pieces of facial tissue, cotton balls, a needle and thread and a sharpie. Wrap two pieces of tissue over three to four cotton balls and tie a string around it to form the head of the ghost. Draw your ghost’s eyes and your done with one! If you want to get fancy with the eyes, cut out two tiny circles from black paper and paste it on the ghost’s body. Make 10 of these mini ghosts and thread the string through them. Space them out evenly then hang it up wherever you please!

2. Ghost ornaments

For this DIY, you’ll need some cheese cloth, clear ornament balls (I get mine from the dollar tree which would normally be $1 for a pair), black paper and some scotch tape. All you have to do is layer your cheese cloth up into two or three layers, depending on hope opaque you want your ghost to be. Measure them according to the size of your ornament ball but I recommend for you not to be extremely exact because the unevenness of your ghost’s edges will give them more of a floating look. Put the pieces of cheesecloth over your ornament ball with the sting peeking through the cheese cloth. Make multiples and set them aside. For the ghost’s eyes, again, cut tiny circles from your black sheet of paper but instead of gluing them to your ornament, stick two circles right next to each other onto a piece of scotch tape and place the scotch tape underneath the cheesecloth and into the plastic part of the ornament. This will give a hazy image of the eyes on your ghosts. Hang your ornaments up and you’re set to go. I placed mine on my chandelier, outdoor trees and bushes.
As an extra step for outdoor ghost ornaments, cut glow sticks up and pour the liquid into the ornament before putting the ghosts together. This will make your ghosts glow in the dark!

Happy crafting!
